Academic Requirements

The admission requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity (CYBE) program at Georgian College are as follows:

Applicants must possess an Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, Degree, or equivalent with a focus in computer science, computer engineering, or computer networking, or have equivalent professional work experience in these areas.
Applicants are required to submit a current resume and a letter of interest to the Program Coordinator. Both academic and experiential learning will be assessed during the selection process.
A Criminal Reference/Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory. Placement agencies require an up-to-date clear criminal reference check prior to placement. Students should obtain this check three months before their placement, as earlier checks may not be considered current. It is crucial to note that a record of criminal offences, for which a pardon has not been granted, may prevent students from completing their placements, thereby affecting their ability to graduate.

For international students, it is advisable to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding specific requirements. Additionally, transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

To be successful in this program, students are required to have a personal notebook computer that meets or exceeds the following hardware specifications:

All Georgian College students are required to bring their own device (BYOD) that meets the technology requirements for their program. Students are responsible for the cost, software installation, maintenance, and repair of their device.

The language of instruction at Georgian College is English. All applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide proof of language proficiency. For the Graduate Certificate - Cybersecurity (CYBE) program, the following English language tests are accepted:
