Program Overview

The Business – Finance program at Cambrian College is designed to help students build a successful career in the personal financial services sector. In the first year, students will acquire foundational business skills, which will be further developed in the second year with specialized knowledge in financial services industry regulations, credit and debt management, and financial analysis. The curriculum covers essential topics such as registered retirement and education plans, government benefit plans, economics, investments, taxation, law, and insurance. Academic Requirements

To apply for the Business – Finance Diploma program, students must meet the following Academic Requirements:

For graduates of the new curriculum (OSS): Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent or mature student status, including:
- Any grade 12 English (C) or (U)
- Any grade 11 mathematics (C), (U), or (M)

International students should be aware of additional requirements that may apply. It is advisable to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding these requirements.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure their application is processed in a timely manner.

Currently, there are no specific prerequisite courses mentioned for this program.

Language Requirements

The language of instruction for all our programs is English. You must have sufficient English language skills and experience to fully participate in classroom lectures, assignments, discussions, and examinations.

We assess international applications on an individual basis. All general and specific program requirements must be met, including senior-level English credits.

If you need to improve your English skills, you can apply for our English for Academic Purposes program. Once you complete the program, you will be accepted into our diploma or certificate programs.
