Master Of Applied Health Services Research - Thesis Stream (MAHSR-T)

Academic Requirements

The Master of Applied Health Services Research - Thesis Stream (MAHSR-T) program at UPEI has specific academic requirements for admission. Here are the key points:

• A Bachelor’s degree of four years or a Bachelor’s with honours, or an equivalent professional degree from an approved university.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 or an average of 75% or higher in the last 20 courses.
• Two references are required.
• A statement of interest, including research interests, must be submitted.

For international students, particularly those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, it is important to note that:

• International applicants must complete their thesis research in-person at UPEI under a UPEI research supervisor.
• Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Additionally, students are expected to attend one themed workshop and approximately 12 seminars throughout the program. It is also required that at least two semesters of full-time, in-person study at the University be devoted to the Master’s program.

Language Requirements

The University of Prince Edward Island requires all academically admissible applicants to demonstrate proficiency in the English language prior to undertaking studies. This can be achieved through various approved English language examinations. Below are the accepted tests and their respective requirements:

• Oxford Digital ELLT
  • Overall 8 with no individual component below 7

Any exam should have been written within the last two years. If not written in the last two years, students should make arrangements to take the test at least three months before the semester opening date.
