Academic Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education - Generalist Degree at the University of Alberta, students must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Completion of five academic subjects from high school (higher secondary education).
For Vietnamese students, a minimum average of 4.9 in all five required subjects in the Thi Tot Nghiep THPT/Tuyen Sinh Cao Dang-Dai Hoc is necessary to receive an unconditional offer. No subjects can have a grade below 4, and Civic Education cannot be included in the admission average calculation.
Students applying to the Faculty of Engineering must achieve a minimum average of 6.9 in the same five subjects to qualify for an unconditional offer.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Cambridge English Scale: Minimum score of 180 on C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency, with no less than 170 in each skill.
Completion of the University of Alberta’s EAP 136/INT D 137.

Additionally, applicants may fulfill the English language proficiency requirement through:

Successful completion of three years of full-time education in English in Canada or in another country where English is recognized as an official language of instruction.
Graduation from a recognized degree program offered by an accredited university where English is the primary language of instruction.
