The Bachelor of Arts with Joint Major in History and Women Studies at UNBC offers a comprehensive exploration of women's roles throughout history and their impact on society. This program encourages students to examine gender from various perspectives, including historical, societal, cultural, economic, and literary angles. Students will develop strong writing and analytical skills, preparing them for diverse career paths in fields such as social work, communications, and education. Program structure

The Bachelor of Arts with Joint Major in History and Women Studies is designed to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to gender issues. The program is structured as follows:

  • Program Length: 4 Years
  • Part-time study options available
  • Intakes occur in January, May, and September
  • Experiential learning opportunities include Co-op, Study Abroad, and Undergraduate Research Experience
  • Honours option is not available

This program allows students to engage deeply with subjects such as anthropology, First Nations studies, history, and environmental studies. It emphasizes two core themes: the appreciation and production of knowledge by, for, and about women, and the role of gender in various societies and cultures.
