Academic Requirements

For students interested in the Bachelor of Science - Archaeology (Honours) program, the following Academic Requirements apply:

Minimum GPA: A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale) is required for admission.
International Students:
- For students from Vietnam, a minimum average of 7.0 in Grade 12 (only academic courses are taken into average calculation) is required.
- English language proficiency test results are normally required for direct admission to undergraduate studies. However, students in the CBSE curriculum are exempted from providing English Language Proficiency test.
Transcripts: Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
Application Process:
- Use OUAC 105 or Trent direct application.
- Submit your secondary school in-progress or final transcript, including Grade 12 results.
- Should you receive an admission offer and decide to enroll at Trent University, a final secondary school transcript and Graduation Diploma must be provided as soon as they become available.

Language Requirements

At Trent University, it is essential for students to demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English to succeed in their academic endeavors. All applicants whose first language is not English are required to provide proof of their English language proficiency through one of the accepted tests. Below are the accepted English language tests along with their respective minimum score requirements:

TOEFL / TOEFL IBT / TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition: 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
IELTS: 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
The Duolingo English Test: 115 (Note: Duolingo is NOT accepted by the School of Graduate Studies at Trent, and is only applicable for Undergraduate applications.)
CAEL | CAEL On-line: 60 (starting July 2020).
Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Advanced English): 176, with no sub-score below 169.
Pearson PTE Academic In-person & Online: 59.
Trent Academic ESL Program: Academic English II with 75% in all courses.
