Academic Requirements

The Academic Requirements for the Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology - Network Management program are as follows:

A two-year diploma in an IT program related to the selected major.
An overall minimum GPA of 2.3.
Course work must be completed within five years of the application date.

For international students, the following additional requirements apply:

International applications open on August 01, 2024.
The deadline for international applications is once the program is full.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

For those who do not meet the minimum entrance requirements, alternative pathways may be available. For example:

If you lack a two-year diploma, you may qualify with 60 post-secondary credits in an accredited IT or computing science program, with at least 45 credits related to the major.
If your GPA is below 2.3 but at least 1.7, you can complete three Open Studies courses with a minimum grade of 67% (C+) to qualify for admission.

Prerequisite courses for the Network Management major include:

NETW3000 Network Architecture and Design
NETW3200 Network Protocol Analysis
COMP3000 Advanced Server Infrastructure

English is the language of instruction at NAIT. To satisfy the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirement when applying to a NAIT program, you can demonstrate your proficiency in one of the following ways:

Cambridge English Language Assessment - Minimum score of 169 in each section for B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency
TOEFL iBT - Minimum score of 20 in each section; effective Fall 2025: 70 overall score, with a minimum score of 17 in each section
Duolingo - Minimum overall score of 115, with a minimum score of 100 in each integrated subscore
Michigan English Test (MET) - Minimum overall score of 59
PTE Academic - Minimum overall score of 58
LanguageCert B2 Communicator Test - Minimum score of 38 in each section
