Program Overview

Niagara College offers a high-quality Short Term English for Academic Preparation (EAP) program designed for international students who wish to enhance their English language skills. This program is particularly beneficial for those who are unable to commit to a full semester of studies but still want to improve their English proficiency. The Short Term EAP focuses on essential language skills necessary for academic success and professional advancement in English-speaking environments. Students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the program, which is tailored to meet the academic expectations of postsecondary studies in Canada.

Program Structure

The Short Term EAP program is structured to provide intensive English language training over a 7-week period. Key features of the program include:

  • Placement testing to determine the appropriate entry level for each student.
  • Classes are held for 23 to 24 hours per week, ensuring ample exposure to the language.
  • Weekly organized social events and activities to enhance learning and cultural integration.
  • Three session starts per year: January, May, and September.
  • Students receive a certificate upon successful completion of Level 5.
