Niagara College’s English for Academic Preparation (EAP) program is designed to help students build confidence and master essential English language skills necessary for success in college, university, or the workplace. This comprehensive program caters to internationally trained learners, providing a structured environment to improve academic and professional English. The EAP program is ideal for those who have completed their final year of secondary school and are looking to enhance their English proficiency to thrive in English-speaking academic or professional settings.

Program structure

The EAP program at Niagara College offers a flexible and engaging learning experience, structured across five progressive levels from beginner to advanced. The program is designed to accommodate various learning paces and schedules, with the following key features:

  • Program Length: Students can choose between four-month sessions or a fast-track two-month Short Term EAP option.
  • Classes are scheduled Monday to Friday, totaling 23 to 25 hours per week.
  • Intake options are available in January, March, May, July, September, or November.
  • Students earn a certificate of achievement upon successful completion of Level 5.
  • Weekly organized social events and activities immerse students in Canadian culture.

This program is open to all international students and Canadian students who speak English as an Additional Language, providing a supportive environment for language development.
