Academic Requirements

To apply for the College Diploma - Electrical Engineering Technician program at Conestoga College, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status.

For specific course requirements:
- Grade 12 compulsory English, C or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1251).
- Grade 12 Mathematics, C or U (MCT4C or MHF4U or MCV4U or MDM4U), or equivalent, or Conestoga College Preparatory Mathematics for Technology & Apprenticeship (MATH1385).
Minimum grades required for the courses:
- MCT4C: 60%
- MHF4U, MCV4U: 55%
- MDM4U: 70%
- MATH1385: 60%
Applicants with MAP4C will not be considered for admission to this program. They may be considered after writing the Conestoga College Math Pre-Admissions test. Minimum grade cut-offs apply.
Grade 11 or 12 Physics or Science or Conestoga College Preparatory Physics, technical shops/labs, technical drafting, electricity, electronics are desirable but not mandatory.
Canadian citizens and permanent residents with transcripts from outside Canada require a course-by-course credential evaluation. You can request this at a reduced fee through the college by completing the Assessment of International Credentials for Admissions and Credit Transfer online form, or through an approved provider such as ICAS or WES.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
