Program Overview

The Associate of Science - General Studies is a recognized and credible academic achievement that serves as a key pathway into various Biological, Health, and Medical degrees. This program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation for further study while preparing them for life as educated individuals. The curriculum emphasizes a broad range of academic areas, fostering curiosity about the world, an understanding of global contexts, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Students will develop essential skills for academic success, including critical thinking, effective communication, and research abilities.

Program Structure

The Associate of Science - General Studies program is structured to be completed in a minimum of two years of university-level study. The program includes:

  • A minimum of 60 credits of first or second-year courses.
  • At least 18 credits in Science at the second-year level across two or more subject areas.
  • 6 credits in first-year English.
  • 6 credits in Mathematics, including specific calculus courses.
  • 36 credits in Science, including at least 3 credits in a laboratory science.
  • 6 credits in Arts other than English.
  • 6 elective credits in Arts, Science, or other areas.

Students have the option to study on a full or part-time basis, with some courses available online and by teleconference. Additionally, field school courses are offered in the spring and summer, providing unique experiential learning opportunities.
