Program Overview

The Education Assistant and Community Support program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to support individuals with acquired and/or developmental disabilities. This program emphasizes ethical and professional practices in various settings, including home, school, work, and community environments. Starting in September, students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that prepares them to advocate for the rights of individuals with diverse needs, facilitating their inclusion and participation in society.

Program Structure

The Education Assistant and Community Support program is structured to be completed in 10 months full-time or 2 years part-time. The program includes:

  • Three semesters of coursework and practical experience.
  • Clinical/fieldwork placements to gain hands-on experience.
  • Full-time study options available, with part-time options for flexibility.
  • Combination of online and blended learning formats.

Throughout the program, students will participate in various courses that cover essential topics related to community supports, holistic well-being, and professionalism. The curriculum is designed to ensure that graduates are well-prepared to work in diverse environments, including schools, group homes, and community organizations.
