Academic Requirements

The Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems at BCIT has specific academic requirements that applicants must meet to be considered for admission. Here are the key points regarding the entrance requirements:

Applicants must have a post-secondary qualification from a recognized institution, which can include:
- BCIT Diploma or equivalent
- University degree
- A minimum of 60.0 credits of courses from one or more recognized post-secondary institutions, including:
  - 3.0 credits in BCIT Communications courses or equivalent
  - 18.0 credits at the second-year or higher level

International Applicants:

This program is open to international applicants. However, those who have completed their post-secondary studies outside of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand will require a comprehensive evaluation of their credentials by the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES). Credential evaluation reports from other Canadian services may also be considered, provided they include course-by-course evaluations and GPA calculations.
