Program overview

The two-year Business - Management and Entrepreneurship Ontario College Diploma program equips students with essential knowledge and skills for a successful career in management or ownership of small to medium-sized enterprises. This program emphasizes business trends, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, and innovation within a digital economy. Students are encouraged to explore their creativity and strategic thinking while developing the necessary skills to launch and manage a small business. Hands-on projects tailored to individual interests allow students to create and refine a start-up idea throughout the program, culminating in team-based projects such as developing an online store and presenting a comprehensive business plan.

Program structure

The Business - Management and Entrepreneurship program spans a total of two years, divided into four levels. Students complete Levels 01 and 02 in the first year, followed by a mandatory one-semester break, and then proceed to Levels 03 and 04 in the second year. The program offers a co-operative education (co-op) option, allowing students to gain real-world experience through a paid work term, subject to availability and academic eligibility. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Hands-on projects and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Access to the Discovery, Applied Research and Entrepreneurship (DARE) District.
  • Collaboration with faculty who are entrepreneurs and business owners.
  • Partnership with Shopify for e-commerce platform access.

Students are encouraged to actively participate in co-op readiness activities and workshops to secure co-op placements, although admission to the co-op program does not guarantee a placement.
