Program overview

The Diploma in Pedorthics is a unique program designed to prepare students to become certified pedorthists in Canada. This program focuses on the specialized education and training required for the care of lower limbs, including the assessment and treatment of various conditions. Students will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in their careers and to write the C. Ped (C) certification exam. The program is tailored for both Canadian and international university graduates, particularly those with a degree in Kinesiology, who are interested in pursuing a career in pedorthics. This is the only program of its kind in Canada, making it a distinctive opportunity for aspiring pedorthists.

Program structure

The Diploma in Pedorthics is structured to be completed in either a full-time or part-time format:

  • Program Length: One-Year Full-time or Two-Years Part-time
  • Start Date: September
  • Delivery Mode: Online with a practicum component

This program consists of eight courses that connect theory to practice, allowing students to develop a professional network and unique skills. The curriculum includes hands-on work experience through two practicums totaling 1120 hours, which is essential for bridging classroom learning with real-world application. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in a capstone project, further enhancing their practical experience and portfolio.
