Program overview

Explore the full breadth of the nursing profession, from community nursing to emergency care, with our nationally recognized Bachelor of Nursing (BN) program. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices and principles. Our campus is conveniently located adjacent to New Brunswick’s largest health care facility, the Saint John Regional Hospital, which serves as the province's main trauma and heart care center as well as a medical teaching facility. This unique location enhances the learning experience by providing students with access to real-world healthcare environments.

Program structure

The Bachelor of Nursing program offers two delivery models to accommodate different learning preferences: a four-year program and a condensed three-year model. Students can select their preferred model during the application process. The program structure includes:

  • Introductory classes in physical and social sciences.
  • Courses focused on health specialties such as mental health and family health in the second year.
  • Advanced courses in acute care and community nursing during the third and fourth years.

Additionally, students gain valuable real-world experience through clinical care practicums at the hospital and local community, industry, and public health programs. This hands-on approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared for their nursing careers.
