Academic Requirements for International Students

To apply for the Undergraduate Certificate in Social Sciences + Undergraduate Diploma in Environmental or Social Sciences + Bachelor's Degree (Undecided) at Royal Roads University, international applicants must meet the following requirements:

Completion of high school (secondary school) with a curriculum equivalent to Canadian Grade 12, including:
- Final grades for all Grade 11 and 12 courses.
- A minimum “B” average in four academic final year high school modules, including English.
- Official transcripts:
- For current high school students: In-progress transcripts showing all courses completed in Grade 11 and first term of Grade 12, along with a list of second-term courses where possible.
- For high school graduates: Transcripts showing all Grade 11 and 12 courses taken, along with the final grade achieved for each course.
Applicants with post-secondary education: Must declare and submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions currently or previously attended for all credit courses and/or programs.
International credential evaluation: All international transcripts or credentials are subject to an international credential evaluation.
Flexible admission: Applicants lacking formal academic education may be evaluated based on a combination of formal education, informal learning, work experience, and real-world life experiences.
For Vietnamese and other Asian students:
- Provide official transcripts and certified English translations if the original documents are not in English.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements:

IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 88 with a minimum of 20 in each section
PTE Academic: Minimum score of 60, with no section less than 58
Duolingo English Test (DET): Minimum score of 110
CAEL: Overall score of 70, with no section below 60
