Academic Requirements

Your Academic History is important for your application. If your academic history includes any of the following, please visit My Education for important information: post-secondary studies at an institution other than Red River College Polytechnic; Modified (M), English as an Additional Language (E), or GED high school courses; or home schooling; international secondary (high school) studies.

Regular Admission Requirements

Grade 12
- Submit proof of graduation from or enrolment in Grade 12, including one credit of:
- If you provide proof of enrolment at the time of application, your official final grades indicating successful completion must be submitted by July 15 for fall enrolment or by the deadline specified in your admission letter.
- If you are required to complete an English language assessment, do not submit your transcripts until requested to do so. See English Language Requirements (ELRs) for more information.

- Submit a completed Applicant Declaration for Check Documents Form.
Mandatory Orientation Session
- Attend a mandatory orientation session. This item is not due within 15 days of applying and will be requested by the College at a later date.

Language Requirements

For the Health Information Management Diploma program at Red River College Polytechnic, the following English Language Requirements (ELR) must be met:

The program accepts only the following ELR options:

ELR Option 1: Completion of grades 10 and 11 and enrolment in grade 12
ELR Option 2: Manitoba high school diploma including two credits of English 40S
ELR Option 4: Approved English language assessment

Approved English language assessments and their minimum scores for certificates, diplomas, and advanced diplomas are as follows:

CAEL Online or In-Person: Overall band score of 60
IELTS Academic Level: Overall 6.0 and No band below 5.5
Password Skills: Overall 6.0 and No band below 5.5
Duolingo Language Test: 115 and above with a minimum of 95 in each section
TOEFL-ibt Academic Level: 80 (20L, 20S, 19R, 21W)

Assessment results must be dated no more than two years prior to your application date. We strongly advise you to successfully complete the assessment before submitting your application to ensure you can meet language requirements within 15 days of applying.
