Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management at Douglas College equips students with essential skills and knowledge to excel in the health information field. This program emphasizes hands-on experience in health information science, business leadership, project management, and information technology. Students can choose to specialize in areas such as Information Intelligence, Operational Leadership and Management, or opt for a general stream. Additionally, a one-year Certificate in Academic Foundations is available for those who need to meet prerequisites. Program Structure

The Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management program spans a four-year period, designed to provide a comprehensive education in health information management. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Incorporation of two internships at regional health organizations.
  • A 180-hour supervised practicum in health, government, or private sectors.
