Program Overview

English for Academic and Professional Purposes (EAPP) is a full-time pathway designed to enhance language skills for students aiming to study, live, and work in Canada. This program serves as the first step toward entering an academic program at RRC Polytech. By completing the EAPP, students will be well-prepared to join various academic programs, having developed essential skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Program Structure

The English for Academic and Professional Purposes pathway is structured to provide comprehensive language training over a series of levels. Each term lasts for 15 weeks, and students will engage in a variety of learning activities designed to improve their English proficiency.

Key features of the program structure include:

  • Classes run Monday to Friday, with two to six hours of classroom time each day, totaling 18 hours per week.
  • Students participate in core skills courses focusing on Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
  • Additional targeted skills courses are offered at each level.
  • Classes are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Weekly events organized by the Centre for Newcomer Integration (CNI) provide opportunities for social engagement and volunteering.

Classes are held at RRC Polytech’s Exchange District Campus in Winnipeg, with activities potentially taking place at both the Exchange District and Notre Dame Campuses.
