The Agricultural & Heavy Equipment Diploma at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology is designed to enhance your career in agriculture and heavy equipment repair. This one-year program builds upon the foundational knowledge gained in the Agricultural & Heavy Equipment Certificate program. Students will receive hands-on education from experienced, Journeyperson certified instructors, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of heavy equipment repair. Graduates will have the opportunity to specialize in either Agricultural Equipment or Heavy Equipment, preparing them for a successful career in the industry.

Program structure

The Agricultural & Heavy Equipment Diploma program is structured to provide students with a robust educational experience over a one-year period. Key features of the program include:

  • Hands-on training in a well-equipped workshop and tool room.
  • Specialization options in either Agricultural Equipment or Heavy Equipment.
  • Eligibility to write Apprenticeship exams for full technical accreditation upon meeting academic requirements.
  • Recognition of program hours towards on-the-job training hours required for apprenticeship.

This program is designed to prepare students for the workforce by providing practical skills and knowledge that are directly applicable in the field. Students will also have the opportunity to pursue Alberta Journeyperson Status after completing the necessary on-the-job training hours.
