Program Overview

The Digital Design program at NAIT allows students to explore the intersection of visual design, user experience/user interface (UX/UI) design, and web development. This program emphasizes a blend of theoretical concepts and hands-on practical experience, enabling students to conceptualize, create, and deploy user-centric design projects that engage and resonate with modern audiences. The program also offers a concentration in Visual Communication Design, focusing on visual identity and advertising design, where students can harness the power of color and illustration as vibrant tools of communication.

Program Structure

The Digital Design program is designed to be completed in 2 years (Full-time). It offers a hybrid delivery mode, combining both in-person and online learning experiences. Students can expect to engage in a variety of learning formats, including:

  • Hands-on practical experience in design projects

  • Optional co-op pathway, which includes a mandatory co-op work practicum
