This diploma equips graduates with the essential skills needed to become versatile members of collaborative health-care teams, addressing the growing demand for therapy and rehabilitation professionals. With a focus on practical skills and theoretical knowledge, students will be ready to support clients in diverse rehabilitation settings upon graduation.

Program structure

The Interdisciplinary Therapy Assistant program is designed to be completed in either 6 or 9 terms, depending on the chosen delivery method. Students can select from two options:

  • In-person: This option spans 2 years, featuring face-to-face instruction with scheduled meeting times. It is best suited for students who can commit to full-time studies.
  • Online with in-person labs: This option takes 3 to 4 years and combines live online classes with flexible study schedules. Mandatory in-person labs are held at the Edmonton campus.

Throughout the program, students will engage in a balance of discipline-specific and interdisciplinary courses, including practical labs and team-based learning. Graduates will complete five practicums, each with a minimum of 150 hours in various disciplines, providing valuable on-the-job experience.
