Program overview

The Child and Youth Care program at NorQuest College is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career supporting children, youth, and families who face social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. This diploma program emphasizes the development of strong ethical decision-making skills, ensuring that graduates prioritize the well-being and rights of the individuals they serve. Program structure

The Child and Youth Care diploma program spans over 4 terms, providing a comprehensive educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. The program is structured to include:

• Hands-on practicum experience, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world settings.
• Theory-based courses that cover various child and youth care theories and evidence-based skills.

• A total of 600 hours of work experience through three practicums.

This program is set to commence in September 2026, located in Edmonton, and qualifies for a post-graduate work permit in Canada.
