Whether you grew up on a farm or see a future producing food, our Agriculture Sciences – Agronomy diploma gets you into the field – literally. This program allows you to dig into soil science, botany, pest management, and more, helping you grow your future from the ground up. You will be prepared for a career in agriculture production, retail, service, or research, while networking with progressive producers in the region. The program emphasizes understanding agriculture issues and solutions, not only in southern Alberta but across Western Canada.

Program structure

The Agriculture Sciences – Agronomy diploma program is designed to be completed in 2 years. The program structure includes:

  • Hands-on learning through field trips and labs.
  • Opportunities to deepen your understanding of soils, soil management, botany, and field and specialty crops.
  • Introduction to irrigation, precision agriculture, and greenhouse management.
  • Partnerships with over 70 local industry members for guest lectures and networking.
  • Weekly lunch-and-learn sessions and a career fair with more than 20 industry partners each fall.

This program is available for international students and is delivered through a blended format, combining on-campus and online learning.
