Academic Requirements

Entry into the International Year One (UTP Stage II) programs, including the Agricultural and Food Sciences program, requires the successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent. Below are the specific academic requirements for international students:

General Requirements:

• Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
• Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Specific Requirements for International Students:

• Vietnam: Completion of the Certificate of Complete Secondary Education with a minimum average of 60% in 4 academic subjects.
• India: India Senior Secondary School Certificate with a minimum overall average of 65% in 3 academic senior level subjects, with a minimum of 50% in Year 10 or 12 Math.
• Malaysia: Completion of Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with passes in 3 academic subjects or Malaysia Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum grade of B6 average in 4 academic subjects.
• Other Asian Countries: Requirements vary by country, including specific averages and subject requirements. Please refer to the detailed list for your country.

Language Requirements

The language of instruction at ICM is English. Before gaining admission into the Agricultural And Food Sciences - Direct Entry - International Year One (UTP Stage II) program, you must demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency. This can be achieved by obtaining one of the following results:

• UM English Language Centre’s Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP) - Completion of Level 4
• Cambridge English - B2 First or C1 Advanced with a minimum score of 162 with no grade lower than 154
• IELTS (Academic) - 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0
• TOEFL Computer/Paper/IBT - 196 / 525 / 69 (no band lower than 15)
• Duolingo - 95 overall with no band less than 80
• Pearson Versant English Test (PVT) - 50 Overall
• EIKEN Japan - Pre-1
• Graduation from Manitoba High School (Including Overseas) delivering the Manitoba curriculum - One full credit of English at the 40S level with a minimum grade of 70%
• Graduation from Canadian Curriculum Secondary School other than Manitoba curriculum (Including Overseas) - Year 12 English Literature grade of 70% or higher
• GCE AS Level, A Level, or GCE 'O' Levels First Language (Oral Endorsement) - C
• HKDSE - English Level 3
• SPM English (1119) - 4B
• International Baccalaureate - Standard 4 or Higher 3
• CAEL CE - 50 overall with no bands below 50
• Pearson Test of English (PTE) - 46 with no band below 42
