Gain field-ready skills in ecology, reclamation, and water science with Keyano’s Environmental Technology Diploma Program. This program is designed to prepare students for work in environmental science and resource management, focusing on Alberta’s natural resource industries. Students will explore, protect, and restore the environment while gaining real-world experience. The program includes a co-op work term, providing hands-on experience that enhances learning and prepares graduates for immediate employment in various environmental roles.

Program structure

The Environmental Technology Diploma Program at Keyano College is a two-year full-time program delivered in-person at the Keyano College Main Campus. The program structure includes:

  • Program Length: 2 Years
  • Delivery: In-person
  • Includes: Summer Co-op Work Term

This program combines hands-on lab training, fieldwork, and a summer co-operative work term, allowing students to apply their learning directly to environmental monitoring, reclamation, and conservation projects. Students will develop practical and scientific skills in areas such as environmental sampling, water and soil quality monitoring, and ecosystem management. Graduates may also choose to transfer to the third year of the Environmental Science degree program at the University of Lethbridge.
