Academic Requirements

The Electrical Engineering Technology (Co-op) program at Fanshawe College has specific academic requirements for applicants. To be eligible for admission, students must possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, applicants must have completed the following courses:

Grade 12 Math with a minimum final grade of 65%, which can be one of the following:
- Grade 12 Math for College Technology (C)
- Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (U) - preferred
- Grade 12 Advanced Functions (U)
- Grade 12 Foundations for College Math (C)

Students who do not meet these admission requirements may be recommended for academic upgrading. A conditional offer may be possible with proof of enrollment in upgrading courses. Alternatively, applicants may opt for the one-year Trade Fundamentals preparatory program, which provides all the necessary admission requirements for this program, with a minimum of 65% in Math required.

Note: This program requires strong math skills. Grade 12 Foundations for College Math may not provide adequate academic preparation for this program. Math tutoring and extra help are offered at the college.
