Program Overview

The Associate Degree in Communications at Douglas College is designed to enhance your writing, speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills. This program prepares students for careers in various fields such as communications, business, marketing, journalism, media, and public relations. Throughout the program, students will engage in courses that cover practical writing, spoken communications, presentation skills, language studies, and global media. The Associate Degree in Communications is structured to be completed in four semesters. This program offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes:

  • 60 credits required for graduation
  • Courses in communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Optional Co-operative Education Program for practical work experience

Students are encouraged to plan their courses carefully, as the program is designed to facilitate a smooth transition to a four-year bachelor's degree program.
