Academic Requirements

The University of Guelph has specific Academic Requirements for international students applying to the Bachelor of Arts - English program. Here are the key points to consider:

The secondary school graduation certificate that qualifies a student for admission to an internationally recognized university in their home country is generally acceptable.
Meeting the minimum Academic Requirements does not guarantee admission.
Prerequisite course requirements must be fulfilled to be eligible for the degree program. For the Bachelor of Arts - English, the following courses are required:

For students applying from Vietnam, the Bàng Tót Nghiêp Phó Thông Trung Hoc (Upper Secondary School Graduation Certificate) with a minimum of 8 is required.
Students presenting predicted, interim, or midterm grade 12/senior level results may be considered for a conditional offer of admission if all prerequisite courses are completed or in progress and meet the minimum grade requirements.

Duolingo English Test - Minimum overall score of 110. Individual subscores may be considered.
International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS - Academic) - Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6 for both paper and computer-based tests.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) - Minimum overall score of 60 with no score less than 60 in the individual components.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Minimum total score of 89 with no individual scaled score less than 21 for both internet-based and home-edition tests.

Note: Test scores must be from a test completed within the past two years from the date of submission.
