Program Overview

The Master of Finance (MFin) program at the Sprott School of Business is designed to prepare students for a successful global financial career. This program combines theoretical and practical financial knowledge with essential data analysis skills. Students will also develop proficiency in at least one programming language that is widely used in the financial industry. The MFin program is structured to make graduates highly competitive and agile in the job market, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the demands of the finance sector.

Program Structure

The Master of Finance program is designed to be completed in 12-16 months. The structure of the program includes:

  • Comprehensive coursework that covers the CFA® Institute Chartered Financial Analyst Candidate Body of Knowledge.
  • An internship during the final term, providing students with valuable professional experience.
  • Access to career services for job search support, resume writing, and networking opportunities.
  • On- and off-campus networking events and exclusive job opportunities through Sprott’s career portal.

Students who have two or more years of relevant financial industry experience may be exempt from the internship requirement, allowing for a more tailored educational experience.
