This program introduces you to a wide range of knowledge and skills essential for the construction industry. It combines both hands-on application and theory, ensuring you are well-prepared for a career in residential and commercial construction. Recognized by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), this program meets all academic requirements for certification in the Certified Technician Category. Utilizing state-of-the-art facilities in Algonquin's ACCE building, you will gain practical experience and theoretical knowledge to build a successful career.
Program structure
The Construction Engineering Technician program is designed to be completed in two years. The program structure includes:

Students have the option to gain real-world experience through a paid co-operative education (co-op) work term, although placement is subject to availability and academic eligibility. Admission to the co-op program does not guarantee a co-op placement. After completing the program, students may also choose to pursue an additional year of study to obtain an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
