Program Overview

The Machinist Certificate program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is designed to equip students with the essential skills needed in the high-demand field of machining. This program prepares graduates for various roles in industries such as manufacturing, mining, and power utilities. Students will learn to machine parts according to blueprint specifications, combining both problem-solving and creativity. The program is offered at two locations: Regina and Saskatoon, providing flexibility for students to choose their preferred campus.

Program Structure

The Machinist Certificate program spans a duration of 34 weeks, allowing students to gain practical experience and theoretical knowledge in a relatively short time frame. The program structure includes:

  • Hands-on training in well-equipped shops featuring various machine tools.
  • Online and blended training for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operations.
  • Industry-based work experience to enhance practical skills.
