Program Overview
The Master of Financial Data Analytics (MFDA) is designed to cultivate highly skilled finance professionals equipped with the computational abilities necessary for success in the dynamic financial markets of today. This innovative program is the first of its kind in Canada, merging finance, information technology, and data analytics. Students will develop a solid understanding of the role that AI programming and applications play in the modern economy. With the financial industry increasingly relying on data analytics, the demand for professionals who can integrate finance expertise with emerging technologies is on the rise. Graduates will be adept at analyzing financial data and utilizing data analytic skills, including AI programming.
Program Structure
The MFDA program is structured to be completed in a 24-month timeframe, although it can be shortened to 12 months depending on the number of courses taken each semester. The program is offered on a full-time basis and consists of:
- 8 courses in total
- Project or Internship opportunities
- In-person delivery method
- September start date for new students
This program is recognized as a STEM program, which emphasizes the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in its curriculum. The MFDA is also a GARP Academic Partner, preparing students for the Part I Exam of the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) professional certification.
