The International Year One (UTP Stage II): Business program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate business degree at the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business. This program emphasizes the development of practical experience, leadership skills, and networking opportunities essential for success in the business world. With over 80 years of history, the Asper School of Business is internationally accredited, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them to innovate and contribute positively to society.

Program structure

The International Year One (UTP Stage II): Business program spans a duration of 3 terms and offers multiple intakes throughout the year, specifically in January, May, and September. This structure allows students to choose a start date that best fits their schedule and academic goals.

  • Pathway to the second year of a University of Manitoba degree.
  • Opportunity to apply for various majors in the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) program after completion.
  • Access to a co-op program that provides paid work experience with industry leaders.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at ICM and maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 to progress to the second year at UM. The program is designed to ensure that students are well-prepared for their future studies and careers.
