Academic Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor of Community and Criminal Justice (Honours) program at Conestoga College, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, OR 19 years of age or older.
A minimum of six (6) Grade 12 U or M level courses with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including Grade 12 compulsory English (ENG4U) or Preparatory Communications for Degrees (COMM0350) with a minimum grade of 70%. Higher averages are often required due to competition for available spaces in the program.
It is strongly recommended that one of the six courses be mathematics.

For international students, particularly those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, the following requirements apply:

Canadian citizens and permanent residents with transcripts from outside Canada require a course-by-course credential evaluation. This can be requested at a reduced fee through the college or through an approved provider such as ICAS or WES.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Advanced standing into the third year of the Bachelor of Community and Criminal Justice is available to graduates of specific diploma programs, including:

Students must also complete mandatory practicum health and safety requirements prior to field placements. This includes:

An annual Police Check for Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS). An unclear criminal record may prevent participation in field placements.
