Academic Requirements

To apply for the Double Degree - Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) - Mathematics & Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) - Economics (OXX) program at the University of Ottawa, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Have received or be in the process of receiving your Senior High School Certificate - Bằng Tốt Nghiệp Trung Học Phổ Thông.
Have passed the prerequisites for the program of study (minimum of 5/10 required).
Have a minimum average of 7.5/10 and have passed five subjects (including the prerequisites) in the senior year. Requirements may be higher depending on the program of study you choose.

For international students, particularly those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, the following additional requirements apply:

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
If you are currently studying in a French lycée or another recognized curriculum such as the International Baccalaureate, GCE curriculum, or an American-patterned curriculum, please refer to the specific information for your situation.

It is important to note that space is limited, and admission is not guaranteed. The university reserves the right to reject applicants even if they meet all Academic Requirements.

Language Requirements

If you’re applying for an English-language program and have not completed at least three years of full-time study in an institution where English is the only language of instruction (aside from in language courses) in a country where English is an official language, you must submit your official score in one of the following language tests. The official results must be sent directly to us online from the test centre.

In order to be considered for a program offered in English at the University of Ottawa, you must demonstrate that you are sufficiently proficient in the language to follow a postsecondary academic program. Please note that citizenship is not considered when evaluating English proficiency. To show that your English proficiency is at the academic level required for university studies, provide proof of either:

Postsecondary studies in English; or
Last three years of high school taken in English (Grades 10, 11 or 12)

Remember: Language requirements are not based on citizenship. They are based on your country of study.
