Program overview

If you’re artistically and technologically minded, the Interactive Media Developer (IMD) program will nurture your programming skills and artistic vision to take on creative and technical challenges. This program prepares you to work locally and globally in application, game, or web development, graphic design, and user interaction. You'll learn to develop ideas from concept to production, write professional documentation, design and implement stories or games, and create your own interactive experiences. Optional work terms will complement your coursework with added hands-on experience.

Program structure

The Interactive Media Developer Technician certificate program is designed to be completed in 1 year of full-time study. This technical and rigorous program consists of:

  • One year of foundational skills in programming and application development.
  • Approximately 25-30 hours of class time each week, with around five hours of homework daily.
  • Optional co-op or internship designation, allowing students to gain practical experience through paid work terms.

Students can continue their studies for an additional year to earn the Interactive Media Developer Technologist diploma, which further enhances their skills and career opportunities.
