Program Overview

The Health Analytics program at Cambrian College is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to analyze community health through population data. This high-demand career focuses on extracting valuable insights using statistical analysis and data management techniques. Students will learn to understand the health of their communities and proactively plan for future healthcare needs.

With an emphasis on evidence-based decision-making, participants will develop expertise in programming, statistics, and data visualization. Academic Requirements

To apply for the Health Analytics Graduate Certificate program, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Graduates of a diploma, advanced diploma, or degree program from an Ontario College or equivalent.
OR possess five years of work experience in a related field (or a combination of education and work experience) as judged by the college to be equivalent. Applicants must submit a resume detailing their related experience and a cover letter outlining their competencies and preparedness for the program. Any and all post-secondary transcripts must still be submitted.

For international students, additional requirements may apply. It is recommended to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding these requirements.

Additionally, the following recommendations are suggested for applicants:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Completion of any grade 12 mathematics (C) or (U) (MCT4C is highly recommended). Students who do not possess the foundational math will need to take the bridging course/s prior to registration. Please contact the program coordinator to discuss upgrading options.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

It is advisable to apply as soon as possible to ensure a timely admission process.

Language Requirements

The language of instruction for all our programs is English. You must have sufficient English language skills and experience to fully participate in classroom lectures, assignments, discussions, and examinations.

We assess international applications on an individual basis. All general and specific program requirements must be met, including senior-level English credits.

Cambrian College accepts the following English proficiency tests to satisfy our English Academic Requirements:

If you need to improve your English skills, you can apply for our English for Academic Purposes program. Once you complete the program, you will be accepted into our diploma or certificate programs.

*Social Service Worker (SSPG) and Social Services Worker – Indigenous Specialization (SSIS) must meet the minimum requirement listed under Grad Certificate.

We have partnered with Humber College to deliver the IELTS English proficiency test at our Barry Downe campus. For more information about our on-campus IELTS testing centre, please inquire directly.
