Academic Requirements

For students interested in the Dual Degree - Bachelor Of Arts - Philosophy & Bachelor Of Laws (RNZ) program, the following Academic Requirements apply:

International students must have a minimum of 7.0 average in Grade 12 (only academic courses are taken into average calculation) if applying with a Vietnam upper secondary school diploma.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
Students from the CBSE curriculum in India are exempt from providing English Language Proficiency test results.
For the Bachelor of Business Administration, students in the India Senior High School are exempt from having Mathematics as a required course for admission.
For the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, the following courses must be present: English, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
For the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science, the following courses must be present: English, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and one of Physics or Earth and Space Science.

Language Requirements

At Trent University, it is essential for students to demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English to succeed in their academic endeavors. All applicants whose first language is not English are required to provide proof of their English language proficiency through one of the accepted tests. Below are the accepted English language proficiency tests along with their respective minimum score requirements:

TOEFL / TOEFL IBT / TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition: 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
IELTS: 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
The Duolingo English Test: 115 (Note: Duolingo is NOT accepted by the School of Graduate Studies at Trent, and is only applicable for Undergraduate applications.)
CAEL | CAEL On-line: 60 (starting July 2020).
Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Advanced English): 176, with no sub-score below 169.
Pearson PTE Academic In-person & Online: 59.
Trent Academic ESL Program: Academic English II with 75% in all courses.
