This program will prepare students to fill the role of technical support in the dynamic and expanding field of client/server computing, cloud computing, operating system virtualization, enterprise networks, administration, and Internet management. Students complete a work placement component, providing on-the-job training with a local company in their final semester. The curriculum is designed to evolve constantly, incorporating a blend of leading-edge and traditional technologies to meet the needs of local employers. This program is ideal for individuals interested in computers without a strong focus on math, physics, or electronics. Many courses also train students towards obtaining industry-recognized certifications such as Microsoft, A+, LPIC-1, and Network +.

Program structure

The Computer Systems Technician program is structured to provide a comprehensive education over a 2-year period. The program is delivered on a full-time basis and includes a variety of hands-on training experiences. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Hands-on training in computer hardware, applied Internet technology, software installation, diagnostics, and network installation.
