Program overview

Applied Bioscience is a unique collaborative program offered by an interdisciplinary network of chemists, biologists, and health scientists. The primary objective of the Master of Science (MSc) program is to train students to become high-quality researchers at the interface between chemistry and biology. This program emphasizes interdisciplinary research, allowing students to gain experience working within collaborative networks. Graduates are expected to possess a breadth of knowledge in the life sciences, a depth of knowledge in their chosen field, and the essential scientific and technical skills for a successful research career. The program aims to create innovations that will improve the lives of Canadians.

Program structure

The Applied Bioscience master's program is designed to be completed in approximately 24 months based on full-time study. The program format includes:

  • Courses with a research thesis
  • Full-time program load
  • In-class delivery method
  • Start dates available in September, January, or May

This structure allows students to engage deeply with their research while also completing rigorous coursework. The program is tailored to equip students with both practical and conceptual scientific skills, preparing them for leadership roles in the life sciences.
