Program Overview

NorQuest College offers one of the largest Practical Nurse programs in Canada, designed to equip students with the skills necessary to provide high-quality care in various healthcare settings. This program prepares you for a vital, front-line role in the healthcare system, addressing the growing demand for licensed practical nurses in Alberta. With a focus on both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, students will be well-prepared to meet the challenges of a rewarding career in nursing.

Program Structure

The Practical Nurse program at NorQuest College is structured to provide a comprehensive education over a period of 5 to 9 terms. The program includes:

  • Blended learning options that combine online coursework with in-person labs.
  • Mobile training labs that bring practical training directly to rural students.
  • Clinical placements that ensure hands-on experience in local healthcare settings.
  • Graduation with a total of 680 hours of work experience from four practicums.
