Academic Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor of Arts - Music program at Mount Allison University, students should be aware of the following Academic Requirements:

Students must submit a general University admission application.
Minimum Grade Requirement: A minimum final grade of 65% or the equivalent is required in all university-preparatory courses reviewed.
Prerequisite Courses:
- A university-preparatory math course (pre-calculus) is required.
- A university-preparatory language arts course and at least four additional university-preparatory courses are generally required.
Early Admission Consideration: Students may be considered based on their final Grade 11 transcripts. A minimum admissions average of 80% is required for early admission.
Official Transcripts: Transcripts must be sent directly to Mount Allison’s Registrar’s Office by the issuing institution. Notarized English translations should be included if applicable.
For the Bachelor of Music, students must also complete an audition and take a music entrance assessment.
A letter of reference is required for the Bachelor of Music application.

The deadlines for applying to the Bachelor of Music program are as follows:

February 10: Deadline to submit your Music application and letter of reference.
March 1: Deadline to submit your recorded video audition and audition portfolio, if not auditioning in person.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

If you meet Mount Allison's academic requirements, but can't provide proof of English proficiency, you may be offered conditional admission.
