Program Overview

The Hairstyling program at MITT is designed for individuals passionate about the latest trends in hairstyling. This program offers a comprehensive learning experience under the guidance of industry veteran instructors. Students will sharpen their skills in various hairstyling techniques, including women and men’s haircuts, barbering, and color and chemical texture services. The program emphasizes customer service, client booking, and effective product sales within a full-service salon learning environment. Graduates will be well-prepared to meet the demands of employers in the hairstyling industry.

Program Structure

The Hairstyling program is structured as follows:

  • Program Length: 1 year full-time
  • Credential: Certificate
  • Apprenticeship: Level 1 accreditation available upon successful completion
  • Work Practicum: Not included
  • Intakes: Available in September and January

This program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in hairstyling techniques and essential skills required in the workplace. The curriculum is continuously reviewed to ensure it remains relevant to industry standards, and students will benefit from participation in MITT’s Bridging to Work workshops, which enhance employability skills.
