The Hairstyling diploma program at St. Lawrence College is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the hairstyling industry. This program emphasizes practical, theoretical, and experiential learning, covering all aspects of hairstyling, including haircutting, styling, chemical services, and business operations. Program structure
The Hairstyling program is structured to be completed in 4 semesters, delivered on a full-time basis. The program includes:
- 1,500 vocational training hours as mandated by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development.
- Experiential learning opportunities in fully operational training salons.
- Three community salon placement opportunities to gain hands-on experience.
- Networking with industry professionals through guest speakers and applied learning experiences.
Students will also have the chance to complete an apprenticeship after graduation, allowing them to write the Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) exam to become licensed hairstylists in Ontario. The program is open to international students, providing a diverse learning environment.
