Program Overview

Explore how countries around the world are governed and how political systems affect the daily lives of citizens at the local, national, and international levels with the Associate Degree in Political Science. You’ll enhance your critical-thinking and research skills by discussing and analyzing a wide range of subjects, including history, journalism, economics, and political ideologies. You’ll examine political controversies that raise ethical issues in public life and the political choices of public officials, as well as gain insight into Canada’s role on the global stage.

Program Structure

The Associate Degree in Political Science is designed to be completed in four semesters. This program focuses on a comprehensive understanding of political systems and their implications on society. Key features of the program include:

  • Open Enrolment - General Admission Requirements
  • Co-operative Education Program, which alternates semesters of study with paid, full-time work in your field
  • 60 University Transfer (UT) credits required for graduation
  • Minimum program GPA of 2.00
  • All courses must be University Transferable

Students are encouraged to plan their courses carefully to ensure a smooth transition to a four-year bachelor's degree program, allowing for the transfer of all 60 credits to university.
