Academic Requirements

For the Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics, the following academic requirements must be met:

For domestic students:
- A degree or diploma from an accredited university or college in a related discipline.
For international students:
- A three or four-year degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Health Sciences, or Computer Science with a minimum of 2nd Division/2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale where applicable.
- Original transcripts as well as a notarized, translated copy must be provided where applicable.
- No more than ten backlogs/failures are allowed.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

All students must possess strong English writing, comprehension, and speaking skills to be successful in their studies, in any workplace components of their program, and in their careers.

Applicants are required to demonstrate proof of English proficiency through completing and submitting the recent (within two years of the start of the program) results of one of the following English proficiency tests:

IELTS Academic: Minimum score of 6.5 (no band lower than 6.0)
TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 88 (no band less than 22)
PTE-Academic: Minimum score of 60 (no communicative skill lower than 54)
Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 120 (no band lower than 105)
CAEL Online Test: Minimum score of 70 (no band lower than 70)

Confederation College reserves the right to test or retest students whose displayed English proficiency level creates academic or safety issues or does not match the test scores given during the admission process. If there is an apparent inconsistency between online and on-campus test results, students may be removed from their program and be required to complete additional English language training.
