Academic Requirements

To apply for the Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics, the following academic requirements must be met:

A three or four-year degree from an accredited university or college in one of the following fields:
- Business
- Health Sciences
- Computer Science
Minimum academic standing of 2nd Division or 2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale, where applicable.
Original transcripts along with a notarized, translated copy must be provided where applicable.
No more than ten backlogs or failures in previous studies.

For international students, the following additional requirements apply:

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
English Proficiency:
- Academic IELTS: Minimum score of 6.5, with no band lower than 6.0.

Language Requirements

All students must demonstrate proof of English proficiency to be successful in their studies at Confederation College. For the Graduate Certificate - Health Informatics program, applicants are required to submit recent results (within two years of the start of the program) from one of the following English proficiency tests:

IELTS Academic: Minimum score of 6.5 (no band lower than 6.0)
TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 88 (no band less than 22)
PTE-Academic: Minimum score of 60 (no communicative skill lower than 54)
Duolingo: Minimum score of 120 (no band lower than 105)
CAEL: Minimum score of 70 (no band lower than 70)

Confederation College reserves the right to test or retest students whose displayed English proficiency level creates academic or safety issues or does not match the test scores given during the admission process. If there is an inconsistency between online and on-campus test results, students may be removed from their program and required to complete additional English language training.
