Program Overview

The Pre-Trades/Technology program at Cambrian College is designed for students who are uncertain about their career path in skilled trades or engineering technology. This program offers a unique opportunity to explore various trades while enhancing essential technical, math, and English skills. Students will engage in hands-on training, learning the fundamentals of electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical class projects, such as framing and roofing a shed or repairing a snowmobile engine. Additionally, students can benefit from a partnership with the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), which provides access to industry certification courses at a reduced rate.

Program Structure

The Pre-Trades/Technology program is structured to be completed in 2 semesters over 1 year. The program is delivered on-campus and is full-time, allowing students to immerse themselves in a comprehensive learning environment. Key features of the program structure include:
